Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the PDFForge platform, including the API, web dashboard, and all related services (collectively, the “Service”). The Service is operated by Zero Loop Labs Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 17035492), with its registered address at 17 Heronsforde, London W13 8JE, United Kingdom.
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or making API requests to PDFForge, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
2. Service Description
PDFForge provides a REST API and web dashboard for document generation and processing. Core capabilities include:
- Filling PDF form fields (AcroForms) with structured data.
- Generating PDF documents from HTML templates and JSON data.
- Filling DOCX (Word) templates with structured data, loops, and images.
- AI-powered conversion of existing PDFs into editable HTML templates.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice. We aim to provide at least 30 days' notice for material changes.
3. Account Terms
- You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and API keys. Do not share your API keys with unauthorised parties.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not you authorised it.
- You must promptly notify us at hello@pdfforge.dev if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account or API keys.
- One person or entity may not maintain more than one free account.
4. API Usage
Your use of the API is subject to rate limits and quotas determined by your plan. We reserve the right to throttle or temporarily suspend access if your usage disrupts the Service for other users.
- API requests must include a valid API key in the
Authorizationheader. - You must not attempt to bypass rate limits, authentication, or any security measures.
- Automated retry logic must implement exponential back-off to avoid overloading the service.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Generate, store, or distribute documents containing illegal, harmful, or fraudulent content.
- Forge, falsify, or misrepresent the origin or authenticity of documents.
- Upload templates or data that infringe on third-party intellectual property rights.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or related systems.
- Use the Service for unsolicited bulk communications (spam).
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy, with or without prior notice.
6. Payment Terms
- Paid plans are billed monthly in advance via Stripe. All amounts are in USD unless otherwise stated.
- Plan upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
- You may cancel your subscription at any time. Access to paid features continues until the end of the current billing period.
- We do not offer refunds for partial months of service. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we will review your case.
- We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes do not apply retroactively to the current billing cycle.
7. Intellectual Property
Your content: You retain all rights to the templates you upload and the documents you generate. PDFForge does not claim ownership over your content.
Our service: The PDFForge platform, including its code, design, documentation, and branding, is owned by Zero Loop Labs Ltd and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission.
You grant PDFForge a limited, non-exclusive licence to process your uploaded content solely for the purpose of providing the Service (e.g., rendering templates, generating documents).
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
- PDFForge shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
- Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to PDFForge in the 12 months preceding the claim.
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service. Scheduled maintenance windows will be communicated in advance when possible.
9. Termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting us at hello@pdfforge.dev. Upon closure:
- Your API keys will be immediately revoked.
- Your templates and generated documents will be deleted within 30 days.
- Any outstanding balance will be charged to your payment method.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, with notice where practical. In cases of serious violation (fraud, abuse, legal risk), we may act without prior notice.
10. Data Processing
When you use PDFForge to process documents containing personal data of your own customers or end users, you act as the data controller and PDFForge acts as a data processor under UK GDPR Article 28.
As a processor, we will:
- Process personal data only on your documented instructions and solely for the purpose of providing the Service.
- Not access, use, or disclose the content of your documents except as necessary to operate the Service, or as required by law.
- Implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data (encryption at rest and in transit, access controls, regular security reviews).
- Delete or return personal data upon termination of the Service, in accordance with the retention periods described in our Privacy Policy.
- Notify you without undue delay if we become aware of a personal data breach affecting your data.
If you require a formal Data Processing Agreement (DPA) for your records, contact us at hello@pdfforge.dev and we will provide one.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the dashboard at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
